The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a new precipitated silica, wherein: a silicate reacts with an acidifying agent so that a suspension of silica is obtained; filtering said silica suspension so that a filter cake is obtained; said filter cake is liquefied in the absence of an aluminum compound; wherein methylglutaric acid is added to the filter cake during or after the liquefaction process. It also relates to newly precipitated silicas and their use. |
