| abstract | A contraceptive method is described, in which an estrogen and a progestogen are administered daily in a three-phase sequence for 21 days. In the first phase, a combination of estrogen and a progestogen at a low but effective contraceptive daily dosage corresponding to 0.065-0.75 norethindrone as progestogenic activity and 23-28 17a-ethinylstradiol as estrogenic activity; then, for 7-11 days, a progestogen corresponding to 0.25-1.0 mg norethindrone as progestogenic activity and estrogen in the same dosage; then, for 3-7 days, by applying a progestogen corresponding to 0.35-2.0 mg norethindrone as progestogenic activity and estrogen in the same dosage; then, for 4-8 days, a regimen is applied without applying an estrogen or a progestogen. |
