The process of extracting Ni / Co values from a mineral ore or concentrate is that an ore or concentrate is exposed to pressure oxidation in an acidic solution, such as H2SO4, containing oxygen and halogen ions and bisulfate or sulfate ions, and thus contains Ni // Co values from the resulting pressurized oxidation slurry. Includes steps to dissolve. By applying a selective precipitation process to this solution, a solid containing Ni / Co hydroxide is obtained. A Ni / Co filtration step with an ammonium solution is applied to the solid, to obtain a filtration solution containing Ni / Co values and a residue. Ni / Co values are separated by solvent extraction and solutions suitable for obtaining Ni and Co by electrolytic mining are produced. The process also ensures the recovery of precious metals and other metals such as copper. |
