abstract |
A method for producing aromatic amines such as N-Phenyl-p-phenylenediamine is described, wherein a preferred trisodium pentacyano ferrate containing various water-soluble ligands such as an amine substituted aromatic, ammonia, mono alkyl amine, dialkyl amines and trialkyl amines. It is oxidized by oxygen or hydrogen peroxide in the presence of complex (II). The complex is then catalytically reduced by hydrogenation using certain heterogeneous metal catalysts to produce the desired aromatic amine. |
