abstract The new alkaloid of the vincamine type of the formula <IMAGE> and addition salts thereof are prepared. The new compound is obtained by subjecting either vincamic acid to dehydration and decarboxylation or by decarboxylating apovincamic acid. The compound obtained is converted into quaternary ammonium salts.
