abstract 1351031 Derivatives of 2-iminothiazolidine IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 4 July 1972 [27 July 1971] 35206/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises the compounds of Formula II and their acid addition salts, wherein R<SP>1</SP> is phenyl nitrophenyl, aminophenyl or tolyl, and R<SP>2</SP> is H, alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl or aryl, and a process in which they are ring closed to give tetramisole or its 6-nitrophenyl, aminophenyl or tolyl analogues. The compounds II may be prepared by (i) acidic hydrolysis of the corresponding N-alkanoyl, -aroyl or -aralkanoyl compounds, or (ii) reaction of the diamine wherein Y is Cl, Br or SO 2 H, with thiourea or R<SP>2</SP>NCS. Intermediates otherwise prepared are 1-(2- acetylamino- and -benzoylamino - 2 - phenylethyl)aziridine; #N-acyl derivatives of XII; analogues of XII where Y is OH; 3-(2-hydroxy- 2-phenylethyl) - 2 - iminothiazolidine; and 3-styryl-2-iminothiazolidine.
