titleOfInvention Silver halide photographic emulsion
abstract 1520516 Silver halide emulsion FILMFABRIK WOLFEN VEB 9 Oct 1975 [6 Nov 1974] 41422/75 Heading G2C [Also in Division C3U] A photographic silver halide-gelatin emulsion contains a reaction product of a polysaccharide and an isourea ether, having a molecular weight within the range from 10,000 to 150,000 and a substitution degree within the range of from 0.1 to 1 to improve the covering power. In the reaction the hydroxy groups of the polysaccharide are wholly or partially replaced by amidinoxy groups of the formula NH 2 ÀC(:NH)-o-. Dextran, starch or cellulose are suitable polysaccharides. The isourea ether can be O-methylisourea-p-toluene sulphonate or methosulphate.
