titleOfInvention Method of treating liquid metal
abstract The invention relates to the metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, in particular to methods of refining and modifying them, and can be applied in the production of high-quality castings from non-ferrous alloys. The aim of the invention is to improve the physicomechanical properties by improving the refining process. This goal is achieved by the fact that vaporous carbon tetrachloride is fed into the plasma torch of the plasmot immersed in the melt. The introduction of chlorine ions into the melt improves the refining process, while carbon ions are assimilated by the melt and stabilize the melt structure. The use of the method allows to increase the mechanical properties of the alloy, as well as to reduce the hydrogen content and the volume fraction of non-metallic inclusions.
