abstract This invention relates to a microbiological method for producing biomass of yeast grown on hydrocarbons. The purpose of the invention is to improve the quality of biomass by reducing the content of residual hydrocarbons. Yeast is cultivated on a nutrient medium containing mineral salts and hydrocarbons as a carbon source. Aeration is carried out in such a way that the concentration of dissolved oxygen is 5-15% of the saturation value. This makes it possible to obtain a yeast that has a ratio of polysaccharides and carbohydrates in the cell membrane, which contributes to their maximum extractability.
