titleOfInvention | Composition for preventing treating of coal against spontaneous ignition |
abstract | The invention relates to the coal industry and can be used to prevent the spontaneous combustion of coal during mining, storage and transportation. The purpose of the invention is to increase the effectiveness of preventive treatment and reduce the consumption of potassium permanganate. The composition contains the following components, wt%: potassium permanganate 0.1-0.001n n n potassium hydroxide 0.05-0.1n n n water - the rest. The creation of potassium hydroxide alkaline solution medium accelerates the process of oxidation of coal. Under these conditions, the process ends at a stage that is resistant to further transformations of manganese dioxide. As a result, even after the water that has formed on the coal surface is completely dry, manganese dioxide not only does not oxidize the coal substance more deeply, but also makes it difficult for the coal to come in contact with oxygen due to mechanical blocking of micropores. The effect of blocking the pores can be enhanced by the formation of potassium carbonate crystals on the surface of the coal by carbonation of potassium hydroxide with carbon dioxide. The main reason for the decrease in the chemical activity of coal as a result of the treatment with this composition is the "passivation" of the surface of the coal due to the formation of an oxidized coal layer. 1 tab. |
