abstract This invention relates to a technology for processing titanium-containing raw materials, in particular sulfate concentrate sulphate processing for titanium pigments. The purpose of the invention is to increase the extraction of titanium into the target product — pigmentary titanium dioxide of rutile modification, while maintaining its low-tech properties. This goal is achieved by pre-treating the sphenic concentrate with a solution containing 230-400 g / l of sulfuric acid in boiling mode, separating the precipitate formed and acidizing it with a solution containing 950-1100 g / l of sulfuric acid at a temperature of 130-155 ° C for 1-3 hours. After that, the solid residue is separated, and the liquid phase is maintained at the same temperature to a residual titanium concentration of 0.5-3.0 g / l in terms of TIO 3 . Next, the solid part is separated from the suspension, dissolved in water, and a pigment is obtained from the formed titanium-containing solution using thermohydrolysis. For pretreatment of the concentrate, the filtrate after thermo hydrolysis is used, and the filtrate after separation from the suspension of the solid part is used for acid treatment of the precipitate. 2 hp f-ly, 1 tab.
