abstract This invention relates to the essential oil industry, namely to methods for producing sclareol. The aim of the invention is to reduce losses and improve the quality of the target product. The method involves extracting wastes of clary sage with a hydrocarbon solvent, treating the obtained extract with a water-alcohol solution of calcium chloride with a concentration of the latter in a solution of 20%, separating the aqueous-alcohol phase, extracting technical sclareol from it with diethyl ether, purifying the resulting solution by adsorption on alumina and eluting with diethyl ether and distillation of the solvent. 1 tab.
