titleOfInvention Method of producing 3-methyl-3-pentene-2-on
abstract This invention relates to unsaturated ketones, in particular to the preparation of 3-methyl-3-penten-2-one, which is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of fragrances. The goal is to increase the yield of the target product and intensify the process. The latter is carried out by condensation of acetaldehyde with an excess of methyl ethyl ketone in the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid with its molar ratio to acetaldehyde = (0.07-0.75): 1, and 45-65 ° C, followed by neutralization of the reaction mass with alkali, or triethanolamine, or diethylaniline or quinoline. The method allows for 4-5 hours to reach 50-79.4% yield of the target product with a purity of up to 99% with the possibility of using acetaldehyde as paraldehyde. 2 hp ff, 1 tab.
