This invention relates to petrochemistry, in particular to the separation of olefinic and alkadienic C 5 hydrocarbons. The goal is to simplify the process. The separation is carried out by selective oligomerization in the presence of an acid catalyst, followed by the separation of oligomers. Dienes are oligomerized in the presence of a cation-exchange resin based on a sulfonated copolymer of styrene and divinylbenzene in the H-form — KU-2PP, preferably at 80-90 ° C, or "Levatite SPC-108", preferably at 50-70 ° C, or polyphosphoric acid on silica gel at 40-90 ° C (preferably at 40-50 ° C) and a space velocity of 0.2-2.5 h -1.
