abstract The invention relates to naturally occurring amino acids, in particular the preparation of L-phenylalanine, can be used in the chemistry of peptides. The goal is to simplify the process. Synthesis is carried out by cleavage of the Schiff base of ethyl ether-phenylalanine with benzaldehyde with α-chymotrypsin in the chloroform-water two-phase system at a volume ratio of 1: (3-10), respectively. Yield 91-94%, optical purity 96-97%. Simplification of the process is achieved by using more available glycine ethyl ester instead of the previously obtained ethyl phenylalanine ester while eliminating alkalizing and acidifying the reaction mixture to isolate the target product and simplifying the racemization of the by-product D-phenylalanine.
