abstract This invention relates to medical microbiology and can be used to diagnose infectious diseases. The purpose of the invention is to improve the accuracy and speed up the method. The studied cultures are plated on nutrient media containing one of the substrates, in relation to which enzymatic activity is determined, in particular, media with carbohydrates, amino acids, media for determining the formation of hydrogen sulfide and indole. At the same time, crops are made on control media (not containing substrates). After incubation of the cultures, the color change of the media and indicators is determined. To determine the utilization of the amino acids lysine, ornithine and arginine, Nessler's reagent is added to the seed. When amino acids are utilized, a precipitate forms, and there is no precipitate in the control. The analysis time is 18-24 hours, false positive results are excluded.
