Method of producing alpha-methylphenylalanine or alpha-benzylphenylalanine |
abstract |
The invention relates to substituted amino acids, in particular to the preparation of α-methylphenylalanine or α-benzylphenylalanine, which are an intermediate in peptide synthesis. The goal is to increase the yield of the target product and simplify the process. Obtaining the desired products is carried out by dehydration of N-benzoylalanine or N-benzoylphenylalanine to obtain the corresponding oxazolin-5-one derivative, which is alkylated using benzyl bromide as the alkyl halide at elevated temperature and in dimethylformamide. The process is carried out in the presence of tetrabutylammonium iodide and potassium carbonate and the isolation of the target product is carried out by crystallization. Exit 80 - 83%. |
