abstract | The invention relates to methods for determining the enzymatic activity of biological preparations and can be applied in medicine, biochemistry and pharmacology. The aim of the invention is to simplify, accelerate and increase the sensitivity of the method. The method is carried out as follows. An analyte preparation MAO is added to an aqueous measurement medium containing a monoamine oxidase (MAO) substrate, decylamine, as well as bacterial luciferase and its substrates, and bioluminescence is measured on a luminometer, according to the level of increase in which MAO activity is measured. The method allows the measurement of enzyme activity up to 40 pmol of substrate per minute in a sample. |
