titleOfInvention Method of modeling cerebral edema
abstract This invention relates to experimental medicine. The purpose of the invention is to increase the reproducibility of the method. For this, reversible blood flow disturbances in the superior sagittal sinus are created. The method includes drainage of the occluded superior sagittal sinus with a catheter, the ends of which are inserted into the sinus lumen cranially and caudally to the place of its obstruction in the posterior third. The catheter was removed extracranially over the soft tissues of the head. Disruption of blood flow in the sinus for 6-24 hours is performed by squeezing the catheter or epidurally implanting an elastic balloon, which is placed in a common ligature with the upper sagittal sinus. Disruption of blood flow in the sinus is carried out by inflating the balloon for 6-24 hours, which, tensioning the ligature, obtures the lumen of the sinus. The restoration of blood flow and the removal of the volumetric process are carried out by blowing the balloon. The method is reproduced in 100% of cases.
