The separation process is carried out in two counter-flow packed columns, in which the temperature is maintained at 16-20 ° C and 120-130 ° C, respectively. The circulation of the flows is carried out due to the chemical reaction of elemental exchange between magnesium amalgam and calcium iodide solution in dimethylformamide. The organization of the process is based on the inversion of the separation coefficient of the RC between magnesium and calcium in the above reaction: at room temperature RC 12-13, at a temperature of 120-130 ° C KR - 0.6-0.7. The method allows continuous, waste-free and simultaneous separation of magnesium and calcium isotopes. 1 ill., 1 tab.
