titleOfInvention Method of tuning a double-beam sensors
abstract The invention relates to the control of the material composition by radiation-based methods, especially to the control of the ash content of coal by a two-beam sensor. The aim of the invention is to configure a sensor to monitor the ash content of coal on a conveyor belt. The method of setting up a two-beam sensor consisting of a radiation detector and two homogeneous broadly collimated sources of soft gamma radiation, the first of which is installed under the conveyor belt coaxially with the detector, and the second above the tape, is to establish the collimation angle sources equal to 45 ° C, placing the second source above the ribbon at a height h greater than the maximum layer, coal, so that it is offset from the detector axis by a distance B that satisfies the ratio B (0.40-0.46) h the detector above the tape to a height e H, satisfying the ratio H (1.0-1.2). The radiation counting rate of the second source, scattered by an empty conveyor belt, is then measured at a different angle of inclination of the collimator and the source is fixed at the position where this counting rate is maximum. Next, the count rates from both sources are measured separately at the minimum and maximum coal layers, the decrease in the count rate of the radiation of the first source and the increase in the second one are calculated. An aluminum filter of such thickness is placed in a larger radiation flux so that the decrease and increase are compared. 1 hp f-ly. 2 Il. (L 4) BD 00
