abstract The invention relates to a method for producing activated carbon from worn tires and allows an increase in adsorption capacity of 1.2-2.1 times and a yield of 10-20%. Crushed worn tires are carbonized at 500-600 ° C in the presence of 0.1-2.5 wt.% Lewis acid selected from the group: aluminum halide, ferric iron, trivalent chromium.
