abstract The invention relates to the field of biochemistry and medicine and can be used to determine the concentration of hemoglobin in the blood. The purpose of the invention is to reduce toxicity. Sodium dodecyl sulfate or a fatty acid salt (C 2 D), potassium ferricyanide, EDTA, Tris-HCl is added to the blood sample, then the mixture is incubated for ten minutes and the optical density is measured at 540 nm in a cuvette with an optical path length of 1 cm and hemoglobin concentration is calculated taking into account molar extinction and blood dilution coefficients. c b (f.
