| abstract | The invention relates to heterocyclic compounds, in particular to 1- (2 -oxy-5-nitrophenyl) -3-isopropyl-5- (1-benzylbenzimidazolyl-2) formazan as a selective reagent for spectrophotometric determination of Cd, Zn, Cu Hg Purpose -. obtaining new derivatives of the specified class with useful properties. Formazan is prepared from 1-benzylbenzimidazolyl-2-hydrazone of isobutyraldehyde in isopropyl alcohol and diazo solution prepared from 2-amino-4-nitrophenol, concentrated HC1 and NaNO1), while cooling in an acidic medium. The mixture is basified with NaOH to pH 8-9, then adjusted to neutral. Yield 65%, mp. 136-138 ° C.
