abstract | The invention relates to acetalam, in particular to the preparation of glycerol phenyl acetaldehyde (GF), which is used as a fragrance. Increasing the yield and simplifying the process are achieved by using another acid catalyst (QD) under different conditions. The preparation of GFs is carried out from phenylacetaldehyde (FA) and glycerol in the presence of phenylethyl alcohol at its mass ratio and FA (0.4-1.25): and 60-115 0. Hj P0 or KU-2 cation exchanger is used as QD .
