titleOfInvention Method of producing pigment titanium dioxide
abstract The invention relates to the technology of pigments and allows to increase the yield and improve the pigment properties of titanium dioxide when it is obtained from titanium-iron-containing raw materials. The goal is achieved by introducing carboxylic acids (mainly synthetic fatty acids), as well as ammonia solution to a pH of 3.2-3.8, into the solution obtained after the acid decomposition of the ilmenite concentrate and leaching the product with water. The organic phase is treated with sulfuric acid with a concentration of 400-800 g / l, which may also be hydrolyzed sulfuric acid, and the resulting solution is sent for thermo hydrolysis, carried out in a known manner. The resulting titanium dioxide has the following pigment characteristics: whiteness 94- 97 sm. unit; whitening ability 1750-1800 used; covering power of 35.0-37.5 g / m. The yield of titanium dioxide is 96.2-96.9%. At the same time, according to a known method, the pigment has a whiteness of 94 srv.5d, a whitening ability of 1650 srvc. units, covering power 40 g / m. The yield of titanium dioxide does not exceed 93.0-94.0%. 2 hp f-ly, 1 tab. from S9 to Co 00 O5
