abstract The invention relates to substituted piperidines, in particular the preparation of 2,2,6,6-Tetrameetch1-4-oxopiperidine, which is an effective polymer light stabilizer. Simplification of the process and quality improvement is achieved using a different acid catalyst. Receiving lead from 2,2,4,4,6-pentamethyl -2,3,4,5-tetrahydropyrimidine and acetone and / or its condensation products. The process proceeds in the presence of sulfocatonite as an acidic catalyst, mainly a styrene copolymer with an 8% content of divinylbenzene containing sulfo groups (KU-2-8). It is advisable to use sulfocationite in the hydrogen and / or salt form with a swelling ratio equal to 2-5. The method provides an increase in the yield and quality of the target product to 92 and 98%, respectively, and the use of cation exchangers simplifies the process of isolation of the resulting substances from the reaction mixture. 1 hp f-ly. i
