The invention relates to methods for cleaning calcined gases from titanium dioxide dust and sulfur oxides, used in the production of titanium dioxide and allowing an increase in the degree of dust removal. The calcining gases containing impurities SOj, SO, and dust TiOj are passed through an absorber filled with water or an alkali solution or in which sodium titanate is suspended beforehand. The latter is taken in the amount of 10-20% by weight of TiO in gases. The sorbent together with the captured product is returned to the production of TiO at the stage of washing the hydrolyzate. The method provides a degree of purification from 96% and from SOj to 78%. 2 hp f-ly, 1 tab. with $ (L S |
