titleOfInvention Method of determining nitrile of glycolic acid in aqueous solutions
abstract This invention relates to analytical chemistry, in particular, to a method for the determination of glycolic acid nitrile. The aim of the invention is to increase the selectivity of the determination. The goal is achieved by potentiometric titration of the sample using mercury nitrate in the presence of potassium hydroxide, taken in a molar test with the analyte. (4-10): 1. The method is selective because allows the determination of glycolic nitrile in the presence of cyanide ion. Other compounds do not interfere with the determination: sulfides (differentially titrated), rhodanides, phenols, organic bases, nitriles, sulfates, acetonitrile, lactononitrile, acetone cyanohydrin, glycolic acid and formic acid, NH ion. 2 tab.
