abstract The present invention relates to compositions for the surface treatment of paper and permits an improvement in the quality of the paper by increasing the absorbency with respect to printing inks while retaining its moisture resistance. The composition for the surface treatment of paper includes urea-formaldehyde resin, modified with aliphatic polyhydric ypirt and epichlorohydrin, and hardening. As a modified resin, the composition contains urea-formaldehyde, modified with a mixture of diethylene glycol and epichlorohydrin with a ratio of the mixture and urea-formaldehyde composition, and a composition with the composition and composition, and a composition with the composition of the composition and the composition of the composition.
