abstract 1. A filtering apparatus for separating solids and suspended particles from liquids, comprising a cylindrical casing (1), a cylindrical filter basket (3) coaxially installed therein and delimiting a space accommodating the liquid to be filtered relative to an outer annular space (II) accommodating the filtrate, and a backflush means axially movable by a drive (13) and provided with two piston disks (11) arranged at a constant distance and including channels connecting the outer annular space (II), via perforations (27) of the filter basket (3), with an inner space (III) of a central tube (7) provided coaxially relative to the filter basket (3), the piston disks (11) abutting on the inner surface of the filter basket (3) via seals, characterised in that - the central tube (7) is fixedly arranged in the cylindrical casing (1) so that the space accommodating the liquid to be filtered forms an annular space (I), - the piston disks (11), via seals, abut on the outer surface of the central tube (7) in a liquid-tight manner, and are supported for an axial guidance, and - the drive (13) directly engages in at least one of the piston disks (11).
