titleOfInvention | A method and apparatus for treating liquid organic matter in a supercritical water environment |
abstract | The present invention relates to a device - an apparatus processing organic material in a supercritical water environment, comprising systems for dispensing and pressurizing the feed materials with a combined hydrostatic pump (000), a combined reactor block (100) with a heat exchanger, and cooling the separate high temperature and low temperature portions. Another part is a pneumatically operated control valve (200) which provides the necessary supercritical pressure in the reactor. The combined hydrostatic pump (000) consists of three plungers on one shaft with different strokes given by the eccentrics. Thereby, a process and continuous dosing of water, liquid organic material and oxidant for autothermal operation of the device is ensured. The reactions take place in a reactor (102) with a large length-to-diameter ratio having a cooled lower portion and a heated upper portion. The advantage of the device is its compactness and the possibility of continuous operation. |
