titleOfInvention Method for the separation of carboxylic acids from aqueous and non aqueous solutions
abstract The separation method of carboxylic acids from aqueous and non-aqueous solutions according to the invention consists in that the aqueous or organic feed phase (F) containing at least one carboxylic acid with C4 to C6 in the molecule contacts in the two-phase filamentary contactor with the solvent (S). In the case of aqueous phase after its modification to pH most 7 is in the contact with the organic solvent. In the case of organic feed phase is in the contact with aqueous solvent. In both cases the extracting of carboxylic nisacids into the solvent occurs. In the three-phase system with two immobilised phase interfaces the said aqueous feed phase (F) is in the contact in three-phase filamentary contactor with membrane phase (M) made of the organic solvent, through which the carboxylic acids are pertracted and concurrently the membrane phase (M) is in the contact with the phase (R), made of the stripper solution with pH over 7. Into the phase (R) made of stripper solution the carboxylic acids are reextracted, whilst the interfaces of individual phases are immobilised at the noses of the pores of micro-porous walls of hollow threads or tubes. The phases on both sides of immobilised phase interface are not mutually mixed or are mixed partially, whilst the pressure in the phase or phases not drenching the pores of micro-porous walls or tubes is opposite to the phase on the other side of the wall higher than 10 kPa and average diameter of the pores is less than 1 um.
