abstract | A chromium-free resin composition with good base resistance and processability for surface treatment of steel sheet is provided comprising a mixture of urethane resin of soft urethane resin and hard urethane resin; an organic oxide based on Ti or Zr; at least one compound selected from the group consisting of aluminum phosphate, aluminum dihydrogen phosphate, zinc phosphate and hydrated manganese phosphate; and a solvent, wherein the urethane resin mixture is present in an amount of 10 to 90 wt. % and contains 5 to 95 wt. % soft urethane resin and 5 to 95 wt. % Ti-Zr-based organic oxide is present in an amount of 5 to 20 wt. % and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of aluminum phosphate, aluminum dihydrogen phosphate, zinc phosphate and hydrated manganese phosphate is present in an amount of 0.1 to 10.0 wt. % based on the total solids content of the resin preparation. Also provided is a method of coating a steel sheet using a resin composition and a coated steel sheet using this resin composition. |
