The process for the preparation of a rubber composition for a tire inner liner, and more particularly, to a rubber composition for an inner liner of a tubeless tire, wherein said rubber composition comprises a low-gel, high molecular weight isoolefin isoprene copolymer with an isoprene content of greater than 2.5 mol%, a molecular weight Mw of greater than 240 kg / mol and a gel content of less than 1.2 wt. %, wherein this isoolefin isoprene copolymer is mixed with one or more compound selected from the group consisting of rubber, filler, vulcanizing agent, cumarone resin, additives, characterized in that comprising: a) polymerizing at least one isoolefin, isoprene and optionally further monomers in the presence of a catalyst and an organic nitro compound and b) contacting the resulting copolymer under halogenation conditions with at least one halogenating agent. |
