abstract A method for preparing pharmaceutically acceptable salts of tegaserod from the group of tegaserod maleate, fumarate, tartrate, citrate, mesylate, lactate, succinate, oxalate, hydrochloride, salicylate, glutarate, adipate, hydrobromide, sulfate, and hydrogen sulfate salt of tegaserod, and it allows to produce a pure tegaserod salt without isolating the tegaserod base. Also described is temperature-stable crystalline tegaserod fumarate, tegaserod hydrobromide and tegaserod oxalate.
