abstract The invention relates to a method for detecting markers in hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon mixtures labeled using at least two markers that absorb in the 600 to 1200 nm spectrum and reemit fluorescent light and the absorption range of at least one marker overlaps with the absorption range of at least one other marker. light sources that emit radiation in the absorption ranges of said markers, and detecting fluorescent light re-emitted by said markers, wherein at least one of said light sources emits radiation in the absorption range of at least one marker overlapping the absorption range of at least one other marker. of sources emits radiation that is not in the absorption range of at least one marker overlapping the absorption range of at least one OF FUTURE marker, and wherein the number of light sources is less than or equal to the number of markers.
