Described are compounds of formula (I) wherein B, Ar, A, M and R 1 are as described in the description which inhibit the lipoxygenase enzyme. They are prepared starting from a compound of formula (II) wherein Q and R 1 are of particular interest, which compound is hydrolyzed with a basic compound, or Q-NH-OH with trimethylsilyl isocyanate is introduced into the reaction or introduced into with hydrogen chloride gas followed by treatment with phosgene. Said compounds and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are useful in the treatment or amelioration of inflammatory diseases, allergic conditions and cardiovascular diseases in mammals, and in addition are useful as active ingredients in pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of these conditions. |
