abstract | A preparation for protecting wood and lignocellulosic materials, which preparation is applicable using known sanitation and prevention methods. The preparation contains a condensing product of a polyvalent alcohol together with boric acid and the alk. salts thereof. Said condensing product can be optionally mixed with additives or diluents. Furthermore, possible methods of preparing said preparation are disclosed. The methods can be characterised in that a mixture of the polyvalent alcohol, boric acid and its alk. salts is homogenised in a ratio of from 2 : 0.6 : 0.05 to 2 : 1.6 : 0.3; at from 50 to 110 degrees Celsius, during 30 - 90 mins., at a pressure of from 1.3 to 13.3 kpa. Condensation water is distilled out of the mixture. The preparation contains volatile esters of boric acid as a diluent, and, it contains phosphoboric acid as an additive. |
