abstract The invention relates to a method for treating the primary coolant of a pressurised water reactor with control of its performance by the H3BO3 content in the coolant, hydrazine hydrate (N2H4.H2O) being continuously added to the coolant circuit of a nuclear reactor, run up to power generation, in amounts such that its content in a sample withdrawn from the reactor is 5.10<-6> to 5.10<-2> g/kg of coolant and, in a manner known per se, the excess hydrogen being removed, from the coolant system down to a content of at most 100 ml (S.T.P.)/kg.
