The invention relates to hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins obtainable by acid-alcohol extraction from Taxus spp., Gingko (or Ginkgo) biloba, Lycopersicum esculentum and Daucus carota cell cultures with the following characteristics: average molecular weight of 20,000 daltons at intervals variability between 12,000 and 38,000 determined by gel permeation and electrophoresis and high water solubility. The glycoproteins obtainable by the present invention have better properties than collagen in terms of hydration, film formation, tone and skin healing. They are useful in cosmetics and pharmacy.ŕ |
