abstract We propose a procedure for the preparation of methylaminennitrogen-substituted derivatives, in particularnN-substituted stavrosporine derivatives with generalnthe formula (Stau) -N (CH3) -R (I) wherein (Stau) is a residue ofnis a partial formula (Stau) and R is hydrocarbyl R ° or acyl Ac containingnpreferably up to 30 carbon atoms as well as saltsnof the compounds of formula I with the solubility properties of whichnexcel as selective inhibitors of protein kinase C, whichnis carried out in such a way that stavrosporine of formula (Stau) -NH-CH3n(II) where (Stau) has the above meaning, ornits acid addition salt is reacted with the reagentnof the formula R-Y (lil), wherein R has the abovengiven meanings and Y means reactions capablenan activated hydroxyl group or additional single bond,nthe other end of which replaces hydrogen in residue R, andnoptionally obtained compound of formula and converted into onenanother compound of formula I and / or free formnthe compound of formula I is converted into a salt thereof, and / ornthe compound of formula I obtained as a salt is converted tonits free form or other salt.
