titleOfInvention Method for the synthesis of the quasi one-dimensional structures of dihalogenogids and transition metal oxides
abstract The subject of the invention is a process for the synthesis of quasi-one-dimensional structures, i.e. nanowires, microwires and bands of metal oxides of transition metals and quasi-one-dimensional structures of transition metal dichalcogenides composed of fine crystals of transition metal dichalcogenides. The synthesis takes place by chemical reaction of quasi-one-dimensional materials consisting of nanowires with a diameter below one micrometer, described by the formula M6CyHz, where y + z is greater than 8.2 and less than or equal to 10, where M is a transition metal (Mo, W, Ta, Nb ), C is a chalcogen (S, Se, Te); H is halogen (I), said quasi-one-dimensional material being first heated in air or otherwise in the presence of oxygen at elevated temperature and converted to quasi-one-dimensional metal oxides of transition metals described by formula MOx, where x is greater than 0.3 and less or equal to 3, wherein M is a transition metal (Mo, W, Ta, Nb), O is oxygen; this is followed by the chemical conversion of said quasi-one-dimensional metal oxides into a quartz gas tube, containing an active reagent containing a chalcogen; the conversion takes place at an elevated temperature at which the active chalcogen-containing reagent is in the vapor phase.
