abstract | Wood preservative is intended to protect wood against wood pests, or a means to increase the resistance of wood to biotic and abiotic decay factors. The wood preservative according to the invention consists of an aqueous solution of amine, copper compound, boron mixture, quaternary ammonium compound and carboxylic acid, or in a particularly preferred case aqueous solution of ethanolamine, copper sulphate pentahydrate (CuSO4x5H2O), sodium bororate alkylbenzyldimethyl ammonium chloride and octanoic acid. With such a choice of individual components, the leaching of Cu from these preparations is completely comparable to the leaching of Cu from CCB-protected wood. The preparation thus composed also has satisfactory fungicidal activity and its fungicidal activity is completely comparable to that of CCB. |
