New hydrated forms of sodium alendronate with a water content of about one percent to about twelve percent and the processes for their production are presented. New crystalline forms of the alendronate sodium alendronate B, D, E, F, G, and H are presented as well as processes for their production. These new forms of alendronate sodium are suitable as pharmaceutical ingredients for the treatment of accelerated bone resorption in bone disease. |
