| abstract | The invention relates to the use of intravenous contrast media for projection mammography as well as to new projection mammography preparations. The invention therefore relates to the use of intravenous contrast agents for the preparation of a diagnostic agent for projection mammography. With additional intravenous administration of the contrast agent, projection mammography achieves a sensitivity comparable to state-of-the-art procedures such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRT) for highly versatile use and without such costs as MRT. The new procedure is feasible easily and without special stress for the patient and offers a significant improvement a) sensitivity to evidence of focal lesions in the breast (breast), and b) additional information on the character of the previously detected lesions. |
