titleOfInvention | SEED IN FORESTRY PLANTING AND PELLET FOOD EXERCISE OF THE SEED |
abstract | The topsoil in the planting area is not preworked mechanically, and small heaps of pellets are set out mechanically and automatically in quadratic formations with approximately 1.25 to 2 m intervening space. In the successively heaps, pine tree seeds with fore and/or spruce content alternate with pellets contg. deciduous tree seeds, in the successive heaps. The actual pellets contain 40 - 75 wt.% controlled, composted organic material and other biological material, 25 - 70 wt.% bark, 0 - 10 wt.% slurry, and possibly other additives, together with the seeds. Once laid in heaps on the soil, the pellets swell and form a moisture-retaining and protective cushion, thus promoting the seed growth. They also contain 1 per cent nutrient selected from nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and/or calcium for mixt. with specific soil characteristics. |
