abstract The title compounds are of formula <IMAGE> wherein R is =O, -OH, -OCO(C1-5 alkyl), -COOH, -CH2OH, -CHO, -COO(C1-6 alkyl), -COCH3, -CH(CH3)-COOH, -CH(CH3)- COO(C1-6 alkyl), beta -O-(CH2)3- alpha or a 20 beta -isomer of -CH(CH3-)- CH2OH, CH(CH3)-CHO, -CH(CH3)-COOH or -CH(CH3)- COO(C1-6 alkyl). These compounds have utility as inhibitors of the enzyme which converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, and may be made up into pharmaceutical compositions for treating acne and oily skin.
