abstract Pyrrolo[2,1-b]-3-benzazepines of the formula <IMAGE> and their salts and cis/trans geometrical isomers are prepared in pure form or as mixture. The substituents are defined in Claim 1. These compounds are obtained by dehydration of corresponding compounds which have a hydroxyl group in position 11. The isomers, preferably the E isomer, can be obtained from the mixture of isomers by chromatographic separation. The resulting compounds can be used as skeletal muscle relaxants or sedatives.
