| abstract | 1469664 1,4-Disubstituted piperidines A H ROBINS CO Inc 18 July 1974 [19 July 1973 3 July 1974] 31974/74 Heading C2C Novel pharmaceuticals are compounds of Formula I wherein: R is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, fluorine, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, trifluoromethyl or p-fluorophenyl, R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen, chlorine or fluorine, A is -C(O)-, -C(NOH)-, -CHOH or -C(OH)(CH 3 )-, B is -C(O)-, -CHOH-, -C(NOH)-, -C(OH)(CH 3 )- or >C-OCH 2 CH 2 O, [with the provisos that A # and B cannot both be -C(O)- except when R is p-fluorophenyl, and that A cannot be -CHOH when B is -C(O)-], and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof (lower=C 1-6 ). The compounds of Formula I are obtained, for example, according to the following equations The examples prepare compounds of Formula I in which R is -F or p-fluorophenyl and R<SP>1</SP> is -F. Salts prepared are those with HCl and oxalic acid. The compounds of Formula I and said salts thereof exhibit central nervous system depressant activity. |
